About our sketchbooks/journals
Kristina Nordlöf Journals/Sketchbooks are handbound with a sturdy, printed cotton or linen fabric cover. It’s either a Kristina Nordlof original design or a scandinavian vintage fabric from her private collection of Scandinavian fabrics from the 50s, 60s and 70s.
All fabrics are high quality, limited edition prints. Even books made from the same print have their own characteristics depending on the part of the print visible, making them truly special.
Bindings are hand-made in Barcelona by a 2nd generation, artisan bookbinder. Use of these techniques ensures that important hand-craft traditions continue to thrive. The sketchbook comes with a cotton-ribbon page marker.
It's exclusively made using Italian Favini CRUSH ecological paper, with process residues from organic corn, replacing up to 15% of virgin tree pulp. CRUSH is FSC (TM) certified, produced with EKO energy, GMO-free and contain 40% post-consumer recycled waste, reducing the carbon footprint by 20% compared to standard paper production. It works well with mediums including: art marker pen, India ink and pencils.
